The exhibition "Solaris Chronicles" was curated by Liam Gillick, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Philippe Parreno in celebration of the laying of the foundation stone for the initiation of the construction of the new building by Frank Gehry for Luma Foundation at Parc des Ateliers in Arles. The center of the exhibition were a selection of the architectural models for buildings designed by Frank Gehry – projects from 1978 up to today – chosen by him and Maja Hoffmann. The large-scale models were presented at a gigantic factory building and were repeatedly re-staged during the time of the exhibition. Around the models various interventions took place. Tweaklab was commissioned for the media planning and installation, including sound exposure in the entire hall and digital editing of the sound files. A total of 3,5 km audio cable was used by Tweaklab in order to achieve the best result in this enormous hall. The sound processor Galileo by Meyer Sound allowed for acoustical transmission in individual sections of the hall. The overall control of these very complex acoustic installations as well as the lighting of the hall were reduced to the most simple operation through a programmed keyboard connection, which was part of the assignment. Like this it was possible to control the sound and lighting system effortless.
