Baobab Books

"FAiRE" is a multimedia project to promote reading with children, it is based on the picture book "Let's do this". Filled with pictures, it tells about everyday life of people in India in the tradition of the Warli. The primary school pupils engaged themselves with this storybook during a project week, and they composed their own stories by means of language, sound and drawings. At the end all elements merged into each other in one multimedia installation, which was operated by the children themselves and which brought the stories to life.

Martina Jung and Kaspar Hochuli from Tweaklab supervised the productions of the pupils during this project week. They prepared sound recordings and sound design for the radio plays, then the drawings and the sound layers were integrated into the interactive touchscreen application. The highlight at the end of the week was a 45 minute public performance of the works in Delémont and Basel, which was mentored by Tweaklab.
