Gotthard: Story of an Acceleration
Museo Nazionale del San Gottardo

The historical cornerstones of the Gotthard transportation network, the tunnel systems, gallery passages and the hydroelectric power station are presented in the new permanent exhibition through a variety of media stations and exhibits.

On the top floor, a multimedia show takes visitors on a journey through the history of the Gotthard. Strikingly, historical film documents are imaginatively orchestrated in a three-channel video projection, complete with animations, as well as lighting and stage elements. Historical light fixtures used by miners and tunnel builders, and from carriages and old cars are equipped with more than 30 LEDs as part of the multimedia show. The spatial experience is complemented and enhanced with an elaborate 7.1 surround sound mix with specially composed elements by Simon Hauswirth. Tweaklab was commissioned with the programming of the entire show, from the seamless transitions of the projection surfaces, to the the DMX control and the integration of the room lighting. Of particular note is the mobile screen hanging system, which was specially designed by Tweaklab in collaboration with Kornel Vogt to facilitate the multifunctional use of the space. The screens can be set up and taken down at any time. In addition, a simple and user-friendly system is available for personal, digital presentations or online conferences. Tweaklab was responsible for the media planning and installation of all media technology on the top floor. Distributed throughout the exhibition are various video stations as well as 21 touch screen stations with inspiring interviews of regional and national personalities. At these stations, the audience can choose audio tracks in four languages. The touch screen stations are equipped with two headphones each.

Tweaklab was commissioned with the media planning, installation, and programming of the entire exhibition, including the programming of the overall control system for the automatic switching on and off of the exhibition devices.
