Parreno presents the film installation "La Quinta del Sordo" within the exhibition "Goya" at the Fondation Beyeler. In this work he addresses the painter's deafness and explores Goya's former country house and its murals, the pinturas negras. In Parreno's approach, these masterpieces are filmed at close range. The film's subtle, multi-channel audio blends in real-time with the sounds in the gallery.
Tweaklab was commissioned with the media technology planning of the film installation involving specialized spatial sound consisting of 20 passive loudspeakers, 16 microphones, as well as a 4K video wall.
