With the completion of the renovation, the Museum Altes Zeughaus in Solothurn opens with a new permanent exhibition with the theme “conflicts and their resolutions”.
Between the exhibits such as ordnance, cannons and halberds media stations are placed where the visitors can focus closer on a theme. For example at Schaudepot the visitor can view on four screens videos of the moment of the firing of various barrels shown in slow motion, at Konfrontationszone the sound of cannons and war creates a threatening atmosphere whilst walking through the exhibits and in the three themed rooms a closer look can be taken on the themes of war, peace and conflict. In the room “peace” a selection of people are interviewed on their opinion on peace and in the room “conflict” contributions to the subject conflict can be listened and the visitors can record their own statements. Throughout the exhibition the armourer of the old armory leads through the exhibition with seven audio stations.
Tweaklab was commissioned with the overall media planning and the coordination of the implementation. The different fields, such as video, audio and animation, were implemented by partner firms and coordinated and controlled by Tweaklab. The elaboration of the tender in collaboration with element and the museum was also part of the assignment.
New permanent exhibition starting on 17.06.2016
