The new section on the Middle Ages is the last addition to the permanent exhibition "History of Switzerland".

A relief of Switzerland is hanging on a wall. It is covered by an animation which visually conveys to the visitors the medieval dominions of principalities and monasteries, traffic routes and pilgrims’ paths and their changing history. The atmospheric ambient sound and the additional spoken comments have been designed as an overall composition. However, they split up. On the one hand, there is information in German, French, Italian and English on the handsets and, on the other hand, the skilfully applied ambient sound that accompanies the animated film.
An additional media station explains the different medieval world views using old maps on a touch screen.
Tweaklab was commissioned with the media technical planning, programming and installation, as well as with the sound design and sound mixing of the animated film.
