Digital telescope
National Museum Zurich

In collaboration with Maringi Studio, Tweaklab has developed a digital telescope for the new permanent exhibition "Geschichte Schweiz", and they do stand out through their diverse application options.
When, for example, the telescope is pointed onto the Dufour map, which was the first official map series, different statistics become live to see. Comparisons of different confessions up to community level, the development of language in different areas, as well as property assets of the individual villages over the period between 1856 until today, can be reviewed.

The two digital telescopes have been adapted to an alpine telescope and they persuade through their clear design. The viewer is equipped with VR-glasses who create a feeling of space. The navigation of the telescopes is triggered through the three push buttons placed on the handlebar. On the left side the timeline can be activated and on the right side the zoom function that enlarges the map extract can be operated. Like this, you can navigate through different themes like "migration", "development of language", "confession" and "wealth". Through additional bush-buttons the visitors can select between the languages German, French, Italian or English.

Through the telescopes, the visitors have the opportunity to access, in a sensual way, a huge amount of data that is easily comprehensive with innovative and intuitive operating elements.
